Open Question: Why Kolkata (Calcutta) is atleast 25 years behind than rest of India?

I am a bengali from kolkata and living in usa for last 31 years. I recently bought a 1700 square feet condo for my sister in kolkata. But its really pain and frustrating to buy expensive and modern furnitures, carpets, electronics, bathroom items, high end kitchen cabinets. Everybody I ask they really know how to talk big and bullshit. Nothing is available in dirty kolkata like you get it in mumbai or new delhi. All you get from these guys are big big talk. I probably made a distaster by investing money to buy this very expensive condo in Ravi Tagore's kolkata. Its sad to see that Kolkata have not advanced in last 30 years. Start from their airport. Only Air India and few other plane goes to kolkata. Kolkata needs good leaders and their citizens must think globally and act globally. Otherwise they will still live in British raj mentality.
